Tributaries of Wellbeing: Personal, Community, and Systems Pathways to Empowerment and Wellbeing for Women in Healthcare
Women in healthcare experience unique stressors, with increased demands and barriers to wellbeing from work/life balance, workplace culture, and systemic stressors. While integrative health, whole-person approaches to wellness have been implemented for improved patient outcomes, this approach is rarely used to address healthcare worker wellbeing and burnout. This session will focus on evidence-based, mind/body strategies for women’s wellbeing and empowerment in healthcare. Taking a both/and approach to personal and system change strategies, this session will emphasize how both system support and personal/community resilience practices are needed for healthcare burnout prevention. When individual mind/body practices and community support are offered alongside mindful leadership and system change, women can be trailblazers supporting the wellbeing of themselves and their coworkers, cultivating a thriving healthcare workforce.
