As healthcare spending continues to dramatically increase, employers are taking control to curtail costs while improving the overall health of their workforce. Also, the primacy of health and wellbeing has never been more profound. COVID-19 also highlighted the need for better mental healthcare services. Employers increasingly view their investments in health and wellbeing as an integral part of their workforce strategy. Companies want to take the necessary steps to improve healthcare for their employees, reduce their health plan spend and address the rising need for behavioral healthcare services. Many employers see a strong connection between employee health and wellbeing and overall business performance. On-site and near-site workplace health clinics provide a smart solution that delivers high quality of care along with cost savings.

An on-site or near-site health clinic can offer a full array of services spanning primary care and prevention to diagnostic testing, chronic condition management, pharmacy dispensing, physical therapy, lab work, wellness, etc. The overall results have been positive, reflecting improved employee health and productivity, recruitment and retention, as well as well-being and satisfaction. Human resources, benefits and wellness leaders, as well as medical directors will discuss the value of on-site and near-site clinics as a successful strategy in controlling healthcare costs, enabling easy access to medical services, improving employee health, enhancing engagement in worksite programs—and ultimately increasing employee productivity and loss of absenteeism. You will also learn the benefits associated with expanding the present services of current on-site and near-site health clinics, and practical solutions to operate a cost-effective healthcare program while providing quality healthcare and wellness programs.

This is the only conference that will equip you and your organization with innovative practices, case studies and tools to succeed with reducing healthcare costs, improving workforce health and productivity, and boosting employee engagement and satisfaction. By attending the conference, you will learn what highly regarded organizations are doing to improve employee population health and productivity.

Companies must take a more active role in supporting the overall health of their workforce. And thanks to more flexible, innovative offerings in the healthcare space, it’s becoming much more feasible through outsourced services that help companies deliver a differentiated employee experience focusing on employee wellbeing. Onsite Clinics and Pharmacy Delivery Services to Meet Staff Needs and Positively Impact Productivity
In the age of staff retention, worker shortage, and people to cover for others when someone is out of the office, doing things to keep staff at work or making your organization a destination for potential employees is a main focus for many organizations.  Come see how Nixa investigated why staff were missing work, took that data and implemented clinics for staff and students, and then implemented pharmacy delivery services as an additional benefit.  Their tips and lessons learned can be used to tailor your program to any organization size in any industry, but the main goal is offering convenient access to care and at the same time making staff feel that their personal and professional time is valued.

What to Keep in Mind When Implementing an Onsite Health Center
Implementing an onsite health center can solve for a variety of problems, not only making it easier for your workers to live healthier lives, but also helping drive down healthcare costs. The implementation phase is a rewarding time. After the hard work of evaluating if an onsite is a good fit for your organization and making your case to leadership, this is the time when everything starts to come together. While exciting, implementations are a big lift involving many stakeholders and moving pieces. This session will explore what to keep in mind while working through the process to help ensure success.

Obesity in the Workplace: What Employers Can Do Differently
Obesity is a chronic, progressive disease affecting over 40 percent of U.S. adults— the highest prevalence in history. Studies show that the high rate of obesity affects the workplace through higher healthcare costs and lost productivity, strengthening the case for employers to implement programs that address the disease. Given the direct impact on the workplace and the capacity for employers to support their employees, the workplace is a critical intervention point for addressing obesity and promoting overall health. Onsite clinics are intuitively useful for disease treatment, but when also staffed with health coaches, health educators, exercise physiologists, and nutritionists, onsite clinics can further contribute to a workplace culture of health and safety. This session will explore how this option can foster appropriate communication, employee and employer ownership, and adoption of a positive workplace health and wellness culture.

How Top-Performing Organizations Support Employees with Chronic Health Conditions (Including Mental Health Conditions)
By mid-career, the vast majority of workers have at least one chronic health condition. Without a strategy for preventing and managing them, your organization will struggle to keep its workforce safe and well. Your HR policies, leadership and management practices, organizational climate and culture, all have profound implications for the health of your team. New research links many chronic health conditions, both physical and psychological, to job design, work organization and job stress. This lecture will uncover the latest research and highlight the most successful strategies for preventing, recognizing and intervening for chronic health conditions. What are the impacts of “long-COVID”? How do we get ahead of the coming mental health crisis?  Which programs are best for heart disease and obesity?  This session will explore:

  • Healthy work design approaches for reducing risks for chronic diseases
  • Developing policies and programs that address the needs of workers affected by chronic conditions, and enabling alternative worksite arrangements and flexible work options
  • Building a culture of health in the workplace, emphasizing the importance of addressing work- associated stressors
  • Integrating safety, health and well-being strategies within worksite health promotion
  • Offering work flexibilities, accommodations and other alternatives
