About the Conference

Telehealth is the most rapidly growing sector in the healthcare industry and is changing the way healthcare is delivered. There is a growing demand for telehealth services to reduce the rising cost of healthcare benefits, which is estimated at approximately $620 billion annually.

Telehealth offers solutions to address many of the challenges facing U.S. employers, health plans and consumers today, including skyrocketing costs, physician shortages, long wait times, absenteeism and lost productivity, to name a few. Also, telehealth reduces unnecessary visits to emergency rooms and urgent care, saving time and money.

One way of decreasing medical expenditures has been identified as decreasing the total number of visits per patient to doctor’s offices, in order to decrease overhead and overall utilization. Telehealth has been identified as having significant potential in decreasing the volume of visits to outpatient settings. This session will examine modes of delivering care virtually; and key aspects for any organization considering these modes of care: regulatory/reimbursement; impact on clinician resource utilization; organizational/financial barriers; ease of implementation. How to Build an Urgent Care Telehealth Delivery Model
Urgent care plays a pivotal role in the overall healthcare delivery system. Urgent care telemedicine has continued to grow at a rapid pace in the U.S. and is gaining more visibility in the mainstream market as well. Americans are becoming more technologically savvy and are increasingly reliant on their smartphones and computers to manage many aspects of their lives. Telemedicine offers people the opportunity to address common medical issues in an efficient, timely and professional manner, using their smartphones, computers and other devices.
